JUST IN: FG explains why KWAM 1, Comfort Emmanson were appointed as ambassadors

The Federal Government has clarified the appointment of musician KWAM 1 and Comfort Emmanson as ambassadors, with Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo stating that the decision was based on their good conduct and voluntary service. Keyamo emphasized that appointing a repentant offender as an ambassador is a common practice globally, akin to community service.

He noted that the use of the title "ambassador" does not confer any official perks or privileges. The aviation agency is also considering KWAM 1 for a role in the Airline Operators of Nigeria, while Emmanson, who was released from prison, has shown remorse for her past actions.

Keyamo defended the appointments, stating that they were fair and based on merit.
