FG Removes Mathematics Requirement for Art Students in Higher Institutions

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the removal of Mathematics as an admission requirement for Art and Humanities courses in universities and polytechnics. The Minister of Education's spokesperson, Folashade Boriowo, stated that the move is to eliminate unnecessary barriers and increase opportunities for students pursuing Art and Humanities disciplines.

While Mathematics will remain mandatory for Science, Technology, and certain Social Science courses, English will continue to be compulsory. The reform is part of efforts to enhance access to tertiary education and create more opportunities for students interested in Art and Humanities fields.
