Hayatu-Deen Won't Challenge ADC Primaries Results

Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, a businessman and economist, revealed he will not contest the election results in court following his third-place finish in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primaries. In a statement released on Monday, Hayatu-Deen expressed his disappointment but emphasized that it should not overshadow the broader objective of establishing a formidable democratic front in Nigeria.

He cited concerns about procedural irregularities and vote rigging within the ADC leadership but decided against a legal challenge to the outcome. Hayatu-Deen expressed profound gratitude to his campaign team and volunteers, highlighting the need for unity among the opposition to address Nigeria's urgent challenges.

His declaration came shortly after the winner of the primaries, Atiku Abubakar, visited Lagos to embark on a reconciliation tour aimed at uniting the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. Abubakar had claimed the ADC presidential ticket with 1.8 million votes.
