IGP Disu Decorates New DIGs, Urges Security Coordination

On Monday, Inspector General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu decorated newly promoted Deputy Inspectors General of Police (DIGs) and called for improved security coordination. During the decoration ceremony, Disu urged senior officers to leverage their experience to reinforce accountability within the Nigeria Police Force.

The officers decorated included Zachariah Fera, Achinyan Zango, Ibrahim Baba Isyaku, Mohammed Margret Ageb, Ochalla Mohammed, Abdul Sulaiman, Kenechukwu Onwuemeli, Umar Shehu Nadada, and Fayoad Adegok. Disu noted that the new rank places the officers in significant leadership positions within the force, which comes with the responsibility to inspire confidence among citizens.

He explained that the promotion to DIG represents the highest level of professional trust within the Nigeria Police Force, requiring integrity, courage, and commitment to justice. Disu highlighted the evolving security challenges facing the country, including organized crime and cyber-enabled threats, stressing the need for strategic leadership within the force.
