INEC Awards Certificates to AMAC Chairman and Councillors

On Wednesday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented Certificates of Return to Christoph Maikalangu, who was re-elected as the Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), and his Vice Chairman, Moham Nadabo, along with 62 elected councillors. This event marked the formal conclusion of the electoral process for the February 21 area council elections across the six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Aminu Idri, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, described the exercise as a success, emphasizing the transparency of the electoral process. Maikalangu expressed gratitude for the electoral victory and pledged to prioritize rural community development during his new tenure, announcing an 80 percent focus on project programs.

He urged collaboration with political opponents to advance AMAC's progress, while Nadabo assured residents of an open-door policy and a focus on essential services like water and education.
