Kano Assembly Confirms Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor

The Kano Assembly has officially confirmed Murtala Sule Garo as the new Deputy Governor of Kano. This decision followed a comprehensive screening process conducted by an ad hoc committee, which included an extensive question-and-answer session that assessed Garo's educational background, professional experience, and understanding of the state's governance vision.

The committee noted Garo's strong grasp of the responsibilities associated with the office and his clear plans to support the governor's administration. The assembly, led by Speaker Falgor, adopted the committee's report and unanimously approved Garo's nomination during a plenary session.

This confirmation comes after Garo's predecessor resigned, creating a vacancy that necessitated this appointment in accordance with Section 191 (3) (c) of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
