Miyetti Allah Rejects US Terror Allegations, Issues Warning

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), represented by Baba Othman Ngelzarma, has strongly reacted to allegations from the United States linking the group to terrorism. During a press conference, Ngelzarma dismissed these claims as unfounded and damaging to the association's reputation and Nigeria's image.

He emphasized that MACBAN operates legally under Nigerian law since its establishment in 1986 and has contributed significantly to the livestock sector and rural economy. Ngelzarma expressed concern over the portrayal of the association as a violent organization and warned that attempts to blacklist MACBAN could lead to economic losses and further marginalization of pastoral communities.

He highlighted the group's commitment to improving pastoral welfare and promoting peaceful coexistence. Additionally, Ngelzarma called for the Nigerian Senate's foreign affairs committee to clarify the legislative position regarding these allegations and urged the Nigerian government to engage U.S. lawmakers diplomatically to present evidence of compliance with Nigerian law.
