Plateau Fulani Christians Reject Terrorist Links

During a symposium in Miango Community, Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau Fulani Christians, represented by Rev. Buba Aliyu, firmly rejected any association with Miyetti Allah and Kautal Hore, which have been classified as terrorist organizations by the U.S. Congress.

Rev. Aliyu emphasized that Fulani Christians do not belong to these groups, asserting that they share only an ethnic identity with them. He highlighted the group's focus on spiritual fellowship and support for Fulani individuals embracing Christianity, stating that their faith teaches peace and respect for human life.

Rev. Aliyu criticized the narrative that frames conflicts as mere farmer-herder clashes, arguing that such descriptions overlook the deeper issues of violence and displacement affecting communities. He called for the separation of peaceful citizens from armed militants in discussions about security crises in Northern and Central Nigeria, urging Nigerians not to judge entire ethnic groups based on the actions of criminal elements.
