Niger Republic Imposes Restrictions on Nigerian Goods Over Security Concerns

The Niger Republic has imposed restrictions on goods from Nigeria due to heightened security concerns in the region. Colonel Moham Yacouba Siddo of the Niger military announced the new measures, requiring thorough inspection of goods from Nigeria, particularly miscellaneous items.

This development comes amidst rising tensions in the region following a failed coup attempt in Benin Republic. Additionally, eleven Nigerian military personnel were arrested in Burkina Faso over alleged airspace violations, which the Nigerian Air Force has denied, attributing the incident to technical issues.
