NSCDC Senior Officer Probed for Alleged Forged Certificates

A senior officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Apollo Dandaura, is facing a probe over allegations of presenting forged academic certificates to secure employment benefits and advance his career. The investigation was initiated following a petition submitted to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) by Joseph Aliu, a human rights lawyer, on December 23, 2025.

The petition alleges that Dandaura submitted fake academic documents, including certificates from Nasarawa State College of Agriculture and the University of Calabar, lacking proper credentials. Aliu raised concerns about national security implications and urged the ICPC to obtain and verify Dandaura's academic records to ensure transparency and accountability.
