PDP Wins Gwagwalada Chairmanship Election in FCT

In the recent Gwagwalada Chairmanship election held in the Federal Capital Territory, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) achieved a significant victory. PDP candidate Moham Kasim emerged as the winner, securing 22,165 votes, while his closest rival, Yahaya Shehu from the All Progressives Congress (APC), received 17,788 votes.

The election, conducted on Sunday, was organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission and took place across six area councils, including Gwagwalada. A total of 207,577 voters were registered, with 46,294 accredited and 43,960 valid votes counted.

The election was noted for its peaceful and orderly conduct, with no major disruptions reported during the voting process. Kasim's campaign focused on community development, improving healthcare delivery, and enhancing access to education for children across the council.

This victory is seen as a moral boost for the PDP amid internal challenges and leadership disputes within the party.
