PDP's Aliyu Misau Defects to APM Amid Leadership Crisis

On Wednesday, Mr. Aliyu Misau, a representative for the Dambam Federal Constituency in Bauchi State, formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Movement (APM).

Misau's departure was announced in a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abba, during a plenary session. He cited the protracted leadership crisis within the PDP as the primary reason for his decision, stating that it made it impossible for him to continue representing the people effectively.

Misau expressed gratitude to the PDP for the opportunities he had to serve his constituents. His defection is viewed as part of a broader political realignment in Bauchi State, following the recent exit of Governor Bala Mohammed from the PDP to the APM.

This move raises concerns about the PDP's diminishing influence in the state and highlights the internal divisions that have led to multiple defections among its members.
