Hamzat Submits APC Nomination for 2027 Lagos Governorship

On Thursday, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, formally submitted his nomination forms to express his interest in the 2027 gubernatorial election.

In a statement, Hamzat emphasized his commitment to enhancing the quality of life for every resident in Lagos, stating that his decision is driven by a service-oriented approach to governance. He highlighted the progress made during his tenure alongside Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu since 2019 and expressed a deep belief in the future of Lagos.

Hamzat's submission is part of a broader strategy to consolidate his governorship bid and attract widespread support. Recently, the Lagos State APC Advisory Council, which is the highest decision-making body of the party, endorsed his candidacy during a meeting attended by 21 members.

The meeting also saw public support declared by President Bola Tinubu and Governor Sanwo-Olu for Hamzat's aspirations.
