NIPSS Repels Second Attack, Ensures Safety of Staff

On July 1, 2026, the Nigerian Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru faced a second attack within a week, which was successfully repelled by security personnel. The assailants, armed and unidentified, engaged in a gun duel with the institute's security forces but were forced to retreat due to a swift coordinated response.

Dr. Osim Samuel, head of public affairs at NIPSS, confirmed that despite the renewed assault, the institute's security perimeter remains uncompromised, ensuring the safety of staff and residents.

Following an earlier attack that resulted in the deaths of three security personnel, NIPSS has reviewed and reinforced its security protocols. Security agencies are intensifying efforts to track down the fleeing suspects and have implemented proactive measures to prevent future breaches.
