Senate Confirms Muttaqha Rabe Darma as Minister

The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Muttaqha Rabe Darma as a Minister in the federal cabinet. His nomination was presented by the President on a Wednesday and was approved during a Senate plenary session on Thursday.

Darma is set to replace the former Minister of Housing and Urban Development. Prior to this appointment, he served as the Executive Secretary of the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF).

The Senate President referred the nomination to the committee of the whole for consideration and directed that a report be submitted back as soon as practicable. This confirmation marks a significant step in the ongoing reshuffling of the cabinet as the government seeks to fill key positions.
