Nigerian Soldiers Bust Kidnappers' Camps in Edo, Arrest 13 Suspects

Nigerian security forces, including troops from the 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, conducted a successful operation in Edo State, specifically in the Edo North Senatorial District, on February 4. The operation targeted kidnappers' camps in the Osara community of Etsako West Local Government Area, as well as Auchi and Okpella communities. A total of 13 suspects were arrested, including individuals identified as Jamilu Mohammad, Kasim Abu, Braimoh Affeez, Sulaiman Hamisu, Lawan Umaru, Bawa Auwal, Musa Umaru, and Amodu Attai. The security forces recovered various items from the suspects, such as firearms, drugs, digital devices, and other illicit materials.

Additionally, a separate operation in the Aviel Forest of Etsako West Local Government Area led to the arrest of five suspects involved in kidnapping and terrorism activities. The suspects were identified as Isiaka Abubakar, Mohammad Abubakar, Yusuf Abubakar, Moham Somu, and Isiaka Ibrahim. The joint efforts of the military and police in flushing out criminal elements were commended, emphasizing the commitment to safeguard lives and property in the state.
