Tangaza LG Chairman Kalanjeni Resigns from APC, Office

Hon. Isa Salihu Bashir Kalanjeni, the executive chairman of Tangaza Local Government Area in Sokoto State, has officially resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his role as chairman.

His resignation was communicated through a letter dated May 5, 2026, addressed to the APC ward chairman of Kalanjeni Ward. Kalanjeni expressed his decision to quit the party and relinquish his position immediately, citing administrative constraints and challenges as major factors influencing his decision.

He stated that after extensive consultations with family, political associates, and community stakeholders, he found it increasingly difficult to execute his responsibilities to the expected high standards. Kalanjeni expressed gratitude to the people of Tangaza for the opportunity to serve and wished for the continued success of the administration.

A second resignation letter, dated July 7, 2026, was addressed to the Sokoto State Government Commission for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, formally notifying them of his resignation as executive chairman.
