Terrorists Attack Niger Villages, Kill Six and Burn Police Station

On Saturday morning, terrorists launched a raid on several villages in Niger State, specifically within the Borgu Local Government area. Eyewitness accounts indicate that approximately 200 armed assailants, equipped with AK-47 rifles and riding motorcycles, attacked the villages, resulting in the deaths of at least six villagers.

The attackers set a police station ablaze and burned down houses and shops. Reports suggest that only a few policemen were on duty at the time of the attack.

Eyewitnesses noted that the gunmen fled into the forest as helicopters were heard hovering in the area. Despite the presence of security forces, there was no immediate action taken to dislodge the terrorists from their hideout in the forest.

Efforts to confirm the situation with police at the time of reporting were unsuccessful.
