Senior Police Officer DCP Asbagu Aliyu Muhammad Dies

Asbagu Aliyu Muhammad, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations at the Zamfara Police Command, died in the early hours of Sunday, September 6, 2026, at approximately 1:30 a.m. at the Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital in Gusau. DSP Yazid Abubakar, the command's spokesperson, confirmed that DCP Muhammad had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment prior to his passing.

His death was described as a significant loss to both the Zamfara Command and the wider police force. CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello extended personal condolences to Muhammad's family, colleagues, and friends, praying for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

The police command called for prayers for the repose of DCP Muhammad's soul, with his burial scheduled for 2 p.m. on the same day at Sheikh Ibn Umar Kanoma, in accordance with Islamic rites.
