Nigerian Army Rescues Kidnap Victims in Zamfara Operation

On June 12, Nigerian Army troops from Sector 2 conducted operations in Zamfara State, specifically targeting the Zurmi and Shinkafi Local Government Areas to combat banditry. During these operations, the troops engaged in firefights with terrorists in the Yanbuki district of Zurmi LGA, resulting in the neutralization of several terrorists.

The troops also successfully rescued three kidnap victims. Following the encounter, the army destroyed a bandit camp to prevent its future use by criminal elements.

The operation led to the recovery of various items, including rifles, four loaded magazines, two motorcycles, seven mobile phones, two MP3 players, woodland camouflage trousers, and inner vests. The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to sustaining offensive operations across Zamfara and the wider northwest region until the terrorist and bandit networks are dismantled and peace is restored to affected communities.
