Troops Rescue 13 Kidnap Victims in Zamfara State

Troops from the Joint Task Force North West (JTF NW) successfully rescued 13 kidnap victims in Zamfara State during operations in the Anka and Kaura Namoda local government areas. The operations were initiated based on credible intelligence regarding armed terrorists moving towards Tungan Kudaduku.

The troops engaged the terrorists, who subsequently fled, leading to the discovery of a makeshift camp where five victims were rescued unharmed. In a separate operation in Ungwan Rogu, eight additional victims were rescued after a fierce firefight.

The JTF NW continues to maintain pressure on criminal elements in the area. Meanwhile, in Kogi State, the government coordinated a multi-agency security operation to rescue four individuals abducted from the Government Secondary School Olowa during the ongoing National Examinations Council (NECO) examinations.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, confirmed the involvement of various security agencies, including the Nigerian Army and local hunters, in the rescue efforts.
