Troops Kill 38 ISWAP Terrorists in Borno State Attack

Troops in Borno State successfully repelled an attack by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), killing 38 terrorists. This military action comes amid ongoing security challenges in the region.

The Northern State Governor Forum (NSGF), during a closed-door meeting held on Monday in Abuja, reaffirmed its commitment to establishing state police and championing federal government efforts to enhance security across Nigeria. The forum, chaired by Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, acknowledged the need for a multi-billion naira regional security fund to address modern security threats effectively.

The governors present, including Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Zulum and Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, expressed their dedication to collaborative actions to improve security and development in the northern states.

The forum also emphasized the importance of local intelligence-driven responses to security challenges and committed to supporting the federal government's initiatives.
