TUC and NLC Give Health Ministry 14-Day Ultimatum Over CONHESS Delay

The Trade Union Congress Nigeria (TUC) and Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have jointly issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Federal Ministry of Health over delays in implementing the Consolidated Health Salary Structure (CONHESS) adjustments recommended by a technical committee in 2021. The unions demand immediate implementation of the committee's report to address salary distortions in the health sector.

Failure to comply within the ultimatum may lead to nationwide protests, picketing of health institutions, and service withdrawals by health workers. The unions emphasize the critical role of health workers in sustaining the nation and express discontent with the government's perceived insincerity and discrimination.
