ADC Chieftain Accuses Justice Lifu of APC Allegiance

Ez Chukwuemeka Ez, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accused Justice Peter Lifu of being a mole for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in a statement issued on Friday. Ez alleged that Lifu's rulings are intended to weaken opposition parties as Nigeria approaches the 2027 general elections.

He described Lifu as an anti-democratic figure whose actions raise serious concerns about the judiciary's neutrality and independence. Ez claimed that Lifu's recent judicial actions have heightened fears of manipulation within certain institutions to suppress political competition.

He linked the current state of the judiciary to past political developments during former President Muhammadu Buhari's administration, asserting that judicial independence suffered significant setbacks. Ez also called for the National Judicial Council to investigate Lifu and take disciplinary action if found culpable, emphasizing the need to restore public confidence in Nigeria's justice system.
