Wike Advocates Collective Action for Road Safety in Abuja

Justice Eberechi Suzette Nyesom Wike called for collective action on road safety during an investiture ceremony held in Abuja on Friday. She urged Nigerians to move beyond passive concern and actively support initiatives aimed at reducing road crashes and achieving safer roads.

Wike highlighted the importance of vigilance, discipline, and commitment among road users. She encouraged greater public participation in the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) special marshal scheme, describing it as a vital platform for citizen involvement in road safety advocacy and enforcement.

The ceremony was attended by various officials, including Comfort Asom, who represented the FRSC, and Engr Dr. Usman Adaji, the national coordinator of the special marshals.

Tijani Iliyas, the FCT sector command corps commander, reaffirmed the command's commitment to strengthening public engagement and expanding road safety advocacy across the FCT. Wike concluded her remarks by warning against risky road behaviors and calling for a nationwide awakening to the devastating consequences of road crashes.
