Kaduna Government Challenges El-Rufai's Bandit Payment Claims

The Kaduna State Government has given former Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai a 7-day ultimatum to substantiate his claim of releasing ₦1 billion to bandits. El-Rufai alleged that the current administration approved ransom payments to criminal gangs, which the government vehemently denied, labeling the accusations as false and lacking credibility.

Governor Uba Sani emphasized that no ransom was paid and demanded an apology from El-Rufai for his irresponsible statements. The government highlighted the need for evidence to support the serious allegations made by El-Rufai, stressing the importance of avoiding fear-mongering in sensitive security matters.
