Kaduna State Reunites 204 Kidnap Victims with Families

On January 18, 2026, the Kaduna State Government officially handed over 204 kidnap victims to their families. The event took place at a state shelter home located on Katuru Road, Kaduna, and was represented by Deputy Governor Dr.

Hadiza Sabuwa Balarab, who performed the handover on behalf of Governor Uba Sani. The victims predominantly hailed from Tudun Wali, Kajuru Local Government Area, and other areas including Chikun, Igabi, and Kachia.

They had undergone comprehensive medical and psychosocial care during their captivity, which lasted 18 days. Dr.

Balarab expressed her delight at witnessing the survivors return to their communities and assured that the government would continue to support their reintegration into normal life. The handover ceremony also included the presence of Chief of Staff Liman Kila, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development Rabi Salisu, and other local government officials.
