Kadpoly Mourns Chief Lecturer Dr. Bashir Hadi Ashara

Dr. Bashir Hadi Ashara, a chief lecturer at Kaduna State Polytechnic (Kadpoly) and former head of the Mass Communication Department, passed away on Thursday night.

The news was confirmed by Sanusi Rufai Buhari, a senior lecturer in the department, through a social media post. Dr.

Ashara was known for his immense contributions to teaching and mentorship, significantly impacting the educational landscape at Kaduna Polytechnic and beyond. His career included work with notable publications such as the New Nigerian Newspaper, the defunct Nation House, Sentinel Magazine, and Nasiha Newspaper.

Colleagues and former students described him as a humble scholar and seasoned journalist committed to education. His passing has drawn tributes from the academic and media communities, highlighting the loss of one of Kadpoly's finest minds.

A funeral prayer is expected to be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, in Kaduna. Prayers for his soul and forgiveness are ongoing among his peers and students.
