Kaduna State and Street to Scholars Foundation Unite for Education

The Kaduna State Government has partnered with the Street to Scholars Foundation to return an estimated 187,000 out-of-school children to classrooms within one year. Commissioner for Finance, Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed, announced this initiative at the official flag-off of the foundation’s program in Kaduna.
He emphasized the government's commitment to ensuring that excluded children return to school, aiming for zero out-of-school children in the next year. The foundation's founder, Sara Adeniyi, inspired by her experiences with street-connected children in 2008, plans to support about 135 children in the first year, targeting ages five to 24.
The program will encompass primary and secondary education, as well as skills acquisition. Additionally, the foundation aims to reconnect children with their families and provide ongoing support.
The partnership, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding on September 8, 2026, reflects the government's commitment to inclusive development and addressing barriers to education.
