Kaduna Police Arrest 41 Kidnappers, Rescue 7 Victims

The Kaduna Police Command announced the arrest of 41 suspected kidnappers and the rescue of 7 victims during a press briefing on Monday. The operations took place between March and April 2026, resulting in the recovery of 24 firearms and 200 rounds of live ammunition, as well as 50 rustled cows.

Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad credited the success to intelligence-led police strategies implemented under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Olutunji Rilwan Disu. The command reported significant achievements in combating kidnapping and violent crime, successfully dismantling kidnapping syndicates and disrupting their networks across the state.

Additionally, the police highlighted the arrest of a suspect involved in gunrunning, Samaila Ilyasu, in the Kagarko Local Government Area, where 20 locally made Dane guns were recovered. Two other suspects, Abdullahi Suleiman and Jibril Isyaku, were arrested in Makarfi Local Government Area following credible intelligence.
