El-Rufai Family Rift Deepens Over Political Disagreements

A significant family dispute has arisen among the sons of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, specifically between Bashir El-Rufai and his elder brother, Bello El-Rufai, who represents Kaduna North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Bashir publicly accused Bello of substance abuse, hypocrisy, and betrayal regarding their father's political fallout with current Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.

In a series of social media posts, Bashir made derogatory remarks about Bello's character and alleged substance use. He criticized Bello for abandoning family loyalty while aligning with Sani, whom their father had previously supported.

Bashir claimed that Bello only returned to the family after his relationship with Sani soured, labeling his actions as self-serving. Governor Sani's administration has faced scrutiny for financial issues, which have strained his relationship with Nasir El-Rufai.

Despite Bashir's criticisms, Bello has initially distanced himself from the attacks and continued to support Sani as a political mentor.
