DSS: Mamu Received N50m Ransom in Kaduna Train Attack, Faces Terrorism Charges

The Department of State Services (DSS) disclosed that Mamu received N50 million from a ransom fund linked to the Kaduna train attack. Mamu is facing charges bordering on terrorism, including receiving ransom from the families of victims.

The DSS accused Mamu of obstructing the activities of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) committee on negotiations with terrorists. Mamu's lawyer, Lateef Fagbemi, argued in the Federal High Court in Abuja against his client being designated a terrorist.

The case has been adjourned until February 23, 2026, for further proceedings.
