Kaduna Youth Demand Probe into Dadiyata's Disappearance

On Wednesday, a group of approximately 100 youth staged a protest in Kaduna, demanding a thorough investigation into the disappearance of Abubakar Idris, popularly known as Dadiyata, and the alleged misuse of funds from a loan obtained during the administration of former Governor Nasir el-Rufai. The protest began at UTC Roundabout and moved towards the government house, with demonstrators carrying placards that referenced Dadiyata and called for a public audit of the loan agreement.

The protest leader, Ana Yusuf, along with Comrade Joseph Chori, emphasized the need for transparency and accountability regarding the $350 million loan facilitated by the World Bank, insisting that the public deserves answers about the fund's utilization. The protesters urged security agencies to investigate individuals accused of attempting to distract from ongoing probes and described the need for accountability as essential for strengthening public trust in government.

They maintained that the action was peaceful and called on the government to uphold the rule of law.
