Kaduna Youths Demand Probe into El-Rufai Over Dadiyata

On Thursday, a protest organized by Kaduna youths and women took place at the Government House, where demonstrators demanded answers regarding the disappearance of Abubakar Idris, popularly known as Dadiyata. The protest began at the UTC roundabout in the state capital, with participants marching orderly while singing solidarity songs and displaying placards.

The placards called for a public audit of the administration of former Governor Nasir El-Rufai, highlighting concerns over the spending of a $350 million loan secured from the World Bank. Protesters expressed deep frustration over insecurity during El-Rufai's tenure and demanded transparency regarding the loan agreement and how the funds were utilized.

Dadiyata, an outspoken lecturer and social media commentator, has been missing since 2019, and his case continues to evoke anger and suspicion among the public. Organizers emphasized that the protest was not politically motivated but rather a call for accountability and public security review.
