Southern Kaduna Youths Reject Pro-El-Rufai Rally Claims

Youth leaders from Southern Kaduna have publicly distanced themselves from a recent pro-El-Rufai rally held in Kafanchan, declaring that the group does not represent the sentiments of the region. The statement, signed by Nasiru Jagaba, a former youth leader of the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, and Derek Christoph, chairman of the Southern Kaduna Peace and Security Network, emphasized that the rally was driven by personal financial interests rather than community representation.

The youths accused the pro-El-Rufai group of ignoring the suffering experienced in the area during the former governor's administration, including the prolonged detention of individuals like Chief Kurama and Dr. Ishaku Damina.

They called for investigations by security and anti-graft agencies, including the DSS, EFCC, and ICPC, into alleged financial misconduct involving ₦432 billion during El-Rufai's tenure. The youths demand transparency regarding public funds and accountability for security-related expenditures, urging the Kaduna State House of Assembly to conduct a public inquiry into these matters.
