Kano Air Cargo Terminal Nears Completion, Commissioning Soon

The Air Cargo Terminal at Aminu Kano International Airport has reached 95% completion and is expected to be commissioned soon, as confirmed by Faruk Isa Fage, Head of Operations at the airport, during a tour with Musa Okiriri, Regional General Manager of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). Fage stated that the terminal will significantly boost the export of perishable goods from Kano, such as food stocks, tomatoes, and peppers, which previously faced transportation challenges due to inadequate facilities.

Miftahu Ya’u, president of the Airfreight Stakeholders Forum, emphasized the need for collaboration between the government and private sectors to ensure the terminal operates in compliance with international best practices. The tour included other officials, such as Muhammad Audu, Assistant Director of Operations at the Nigeria Shippers’ Council, and Hajiya Raliya Usman Baba, Principal Operations Officer.

The Regional General Manager assured that the terminal's commissioning would occur shortly after final preparations are completed.
