Doguwa Elected New APC State Chairman in Kano

On Wednesday, during a state congress in Kano, Ex-Commissioner Doguwa was elected as the new state chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The congress saw the endorsement of Doguwa by delegates from 44 local government areas, conducted under the supervision of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

This election process, which involved 2,420 accredited delegates, was noted for reflecting internal democracy within the party. Doguwa succeeds Abdullahi Abba, who served as the party's state chairman for ten years.

Following his election, Doguwa expressed gratitude to party leaders and delegates for their confidence in him, pledging to prioritize unity and inclusivity to consolidate the party's strength for future political contests. The congress also included the election of other executive members, such as Salisu Majj as deputy chairman and Prof.

Yusuf Moham as secretary, among others. Outgoing chairman Abdullahi Abba described the congress as a joyous moment and urged support for the new leadership.
