Kano Assembly Confirms Murtala Sule Garo as Deputy Governor

The Kano State Assembly has officially confirmed Murtala Sule Garo as the new Deputy Governor of Kano State. This decision came after the resignation of the former Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.

The confirmation process involved an extensive screening exercise conducted by an ad hoc committee, which adhered to Section 191 (3) (c) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended). The committee, chaired by Deputy Speaker Muhammad Bello, engaged Garo in a comprehensive question-and-answer session to assess his educational background, professional experience, and understanding of the government's vision for the state.

The committee noted that Garo demonstrated a clear understanding of the responsibilities of the office and presented a workable vision to support the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. Following the committee's recommendations, the Assembly adopted the report, and the nomination was unanimously approved by the members present.
