Kano State Boosts NDLEA with Vehicle Donation for Drug War

On April 9, 2026, Kano State donated three operational vehicles to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to bolster its anti-drug efforts. The donation was confirmed by Sadiq Maigatari, the NDLEA's public relations officer, and was presented during a handover ceremony attended by Dahiru Lawal, the Secretary to the State Government, and Umar Ibrahim on behalf of Governor Abba Yusuf.

Lawal described the donation as a strategic intervention aimed at enhancing the operational capacity of the NDLEA in its ongoing fight against drug abuse and trafficking in the state. He emphasized the need for sustained collaboration between the government and security agencies to safeguard communities.

The vehicles are expected to improve enforcement operations and assist in dismantling drug trafficking networks, particularly following recent operations that resulted in the arrest of 200 suspects and the dismantling of 20 drug joints during Ramadan.
