Kano Hisbah Board Arrests Fish Seller and Two Women

The Kano State Hisbah Board arrested a fish seller, Ali Abubakar, and two women, Khadija Ahmad and Fatima Abubakar, over alleged immoral conduct. Auwalu Shesh, the state director of public enlightenment for the board, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Wednesday.

The suspects were apprehended during an operation at Sheikh Muhammad Nasiru Kabara Housing Estate, located along Daura Road in Kano. Preliminary investigations revealed that Khadija Ahmad, a 30-year-old from Rimi Local Government Area in Katsina State, allegedly rented a room where children were being prostituted in exchange for money.

The house was reportedly given to her for similar activities while traveling to Egypt. Ali Abubakar, the fish seller, and Fatima Abubakar, a 28-year-old from Niger Republic, were found preparing to engage in immoral conduct when arrested.

They later promised not to repeat the act and appealed for forgiveness from the Hisbah Board. The suspects have been arraigned in court for further legal action.
