Kano Governor Yusuf Settles N32bn Gratuities Backlog

Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced the approval of a N32 billion settlement for the backlog of gratuities and death benefits owed to the families of deceased civil servants. This payment, which includes an additional N5 billion as the sixth tranche, brings the total disbursed so far to N32 billion, following an earlier payment of N27 billion in five tranches since December 2025.

Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration's commitment to fully settle these outstanding gratuities and death benefits, addressing a long-standing issue. He expressed appreciation for the support from the Nigeria Union of Pension and the Nigeria Labour Congress in facilitating this relief for beneficiaries.

Hajiya Bilkisu Maimota, the Executive Chairman of the Kano Pension Fund, and Alhaji Habib Muhammad Fagg commended the governor's commitment to clearing the backlog within the first three years of his administration.
