Kano Governor Deploys DSS, EFCC to Monitor Fertilizer Distribution

On Thursday, during the flag-off of the fertilizer distribution program for the 2026 farming season, Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf announced the deployment of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to monitor the distribution of 150 trailers of fertilizer across the state. He warned that anyone involved in the diversion of farm inputs would face prosecution.

The governor emphasized that the security agencies would ensure that the fertilizer reaches genuine farmers in all 44 local government areas of the state, preventing unscrupulous individuals from diverting it. He stated that the government would not tolerate any form of corruption related to the distribution process.

Governor Yusuf described the annual fertilizer distribution as a key promise made during his election campaign and noted that his administration aims to support farmers, increase agricultural production, and strengthen food security in Kano State. He also urged officials overseeing the distribution to ensure transparency and fairness.
