Kano Government Denies Plan to Remove Emir Sanusi Amid Political Speculations

The Kano State government has dismissed speculations about a plan to remove Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II from the throne. Governor Yusuf's spokesperson, Sanusi Batur Dawakin Tofa, refuted the claims, stating that there is no intent to tamper with the Emir's structure.

The spokesperson emphasized that the governor's political realignment will not impact the current status of the Emir in Kano. The ongoing Emir crisis, which has persisted for nearly two years following the removal of the 15th Emir Aminu Ado Bayero and the reinstatement of Muhammadu Sanusi II, is being addressed through dialogue and reconciliation efforts led by the state commission of information and internal affairs.

Governor Yusuf's spokesperson reiterated the government's commitment to resolving the crisis and urged residents to remain calm and avoid rumors.
