Kano State Dismisses Counsel Over Forgery Allegations

The Kano State government has dismissed Mustapha Nura Muhammad, a state counsel, due to allegations of forgery and gross professional misconduct. This decision was disclosed by the Attorney General of Kano State, Abdulkarim Kabiru Maud, following approval from the Kano State Civil Service Commission.

The dismissal is part of the government's efforts to protect the integrity of the justice system and uphold ethical standards within public service. The Attorney General emphasized that legal practitioners in public office are expected to maintain the highest ethical standards while discharging their duties.

He warned that any conduct capable of undermining public confidence in the justice system would be dealt with according to the law. Furthermore, the state government may pursue additional legal actions, including referring the matter to the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee and potential criminal prosecution if necessary, to ensure justice is upheld and public confidence is maintained.
