Kano Government Seals Film House for Illegal Operation

The Kano State Government has taken action to seal off a film house located in the Dorayi Unguwa Bello area, citing its illegal operation within a residential neighborhood. This decision was executed on Wednesday and led by Kangi Dalhatu Aliyu Sani, the Director General of the Kano Geographic Information System, who chairs the committee addressing illegal structures.

The action followed complaints from local religious leaders and preliminary findings that indicated the facility did not meet basic legal requirements. Sani stated that the film house's location violated planning regulations and zoning laws, raising concerns about its social impact on the community, particularly among the youth.

He emphasized that the government would not tolerate any individual or organization operating outside the law and assured residents that their concerns would be addressed. The Kano State Government remains committed to policies that benefit the people of Kano and will continue efforts to enforce planning regulations against illegal structures across the state.
