NDLEA Raids in Kano: 52 Arrested in Drug Crackdown

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano State launched an operation named "Sharar Mafaka," resulting in the arrest of 52 suspects and the seizure of assorted illicit substances over two days. The operation commenced on April 27, 2026, targeting 20 known drug locations across Kano metropolis.

During the first day, raids were conducted at notorious sites including Filin Idi and Tashar Rami, leading to the arrest of 15 suspects and the recovery of various illicit substances and paraphernalia. On April 28, additional raids were carried out in areas such as Hotoro, Flyov, and Mariri Park, resulting in the arrest of 16 more suspects, including three females, and the recovery of assorted illicit drugs and locally made weapons.

CN Dy Lawal, the command's leadership, emphasized the strategy to dislodge criminal joints and restore normalcy, urging public support in the fight against drug-related crimes in Kano.
