NDLEA Seizes Cocaine, Arrests Multiple Suspects Nationwide

On April 9, 2026, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) intercepted 12 parcels of cocaine, weighing 2.80 kilograms, concealed in food flasks at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos. The operation resulted in the arrest of two cargo agents, Ama Obinna Ufeim (33) and Ogabi Mondai Akored (39), connected to the shipment.

Further investigations led to the arrest of Agoro Tajudeen Moninuola, a 52-year-old freight forwarder identified as the sender. Additionally, the NDLEA intercepted 2.90 kilograms of cannabis concealed in snack packs flown from the United States, resulting in the arrest of agents Animashaun Moshood and Adetunji Merci Gabriel Oluwasegun, as well as the consignee, Sahe Adeshina Adegok (29).

Other operations included the seizure of 760 blocks of cannabis weighing 847 kilograms in Kaduna and the destruction of a cannabis farm in Edo state, leading to further arrests. NDLEA Chairman Moham Buba Marwa commended the efforts of officers across various commands in the ongoing fight against drug abuse.
