NDLEA Arrests 52 Suspects in Kano Drug Raids

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) executed a two-day operation in Kano, codenamed Sharar Mafaka, resulting in the arrest of 52 suspects involved in drug-related activities. The operation commenced on April 27, 2026, targeting 20 known drug locations across Kano metropolis.

During the first day, raids at infamous sites such as Filin Idi and Tashar Rami led to the arrest of 15 suspects and the seizure of various illicit substances and paraphernalia. On April 28, additional raids in areas including Hotoro and Kwanar Ungogo resulted in 16 more arrests, including three females, and the recovery of assorted drugs and local weapons.

In total, the operation yielded 52 arrests, comprising four females, and significant evidence of drug-related activities. CN Dy Lawal, who led the operation, emphasized the commitment to dismantling criminal drug joints and restoring safety in the community, aligning with NDLEA Chairman Brig Gen Moham Buba Marwa's agenda for a drug-free society.
