Kano Pilgrims Face Health Issues During 2026 Hajj

During the 2026 Hajj, pilgrims from Kano are facing various health issues, including catarrh, headaches, and joint pain, as reported by Dr. Ashir Muham Sumaila.

He disclosed that the Makkah clinic has received numerous pilgrims suffering from hypertension and diabetes, particularly those who traveled without prescribed medication. The common ailments recorded include body pain, catarrh, headaches, and joint pain.

Dr. Sumaila emphasized that many pilgrims with hypertension and diabetes arrive without their necessary drugs, which complicates their treatment.

Serious cases have been referred to appropriate Saudi hospitals for further medical attention. The medical team made adequate preparations before departing Nigeria to identify common ailments associated with the Hajj and procure relevant medication.
