Kano Pilgrims Welfare Board DG Resigns Citing Political Circumstances

The Director-General of the Kano Pilgrims Welfare Board, Rabiu, tendered his resignation letter dated January 25, 2026, to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. In his letter, Rabiu explained that his decision was influenced by evolving political circumstances within the party, necessitating a refocus of commitment.

He emphasized his unwavering loyalty to the Kwankwasiyya movement and its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. Rabiu stated that stepping aside would enable him to fully support the strategic direction required in the current political landscape to preserve unity within the party.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Yusuf for the confidence reposed in him to lead the pilgrim welfare board. Rabiu acknowledged the progress made during his tenure in advancing the welfare of pilgrims and strengthening the board's operations in Kano State.

He thanked the board members, staff, and agencies for their support and praised the continuous progress in Kano State.
